The Audi e-tron sits right in between the Audi Q5 and the Audi Q7 and compared to the Jaguar I-Pace, the e-tron is a slightly larger vehicle coming in at 4.9 metres long and 1.6 metres tall.

Even though it’s the first electric car made by Audi, it keeps in line with Audi’s aesthetic. With this particular model, there are some really cool design features that make it stand out from the rest of the Audi range.

This EV has matrix headlights, which means the high-beam unit is made up of 25 individual segments, making driving more composed than ever. The grill at the front differs from the conventional petrol and diesel counterpart Audi’s as there is no engine. The bonnet is fluted to better direct air around the vehicle and increase aerodynamic efficiency, making the car drive smoother.

The Audi e-tron has impressive 21” alloy wheels with black styling details and full body-coloured bumpers giving the car a beautiful finish. As a top German manufacturer, Audi has definitely ensured that great attention to detail has gone into designing this EV.

There is a charging port on either side of the Audi e-tron, which is amazing for an EV. Built using an easy design, simply press the button in the top corner to automatically open and close the charging port, it can not come with more ease! The charge ports blend in seamlessly with the rest of the exterior making the overall appearance 5 stars. To release the charger from the port, all you have to do is press the same button again.

Like the Kia e-Niro, there is a humming sound to alert pedestrians that you are coming and when you shift the EV into reverse.

The e-tron can charge 80% of the battery in 30 minutes and 100% of the battery within 50 minutes using 150kWh chargers. You will never have to worry about the range, now knowing how fast the car can be charged, eliminating all range anxiety!

Interior

Everything on the inside is incredibly well built with beautiful chrome highlights. With a modern and contemporary Inside an Audi e-tronlooking interior, this car is the perfect choice for someone who bears class and sophistication in mind, when choosing to hire an EV.

To change gears, there is a gear lever paddle. You can change gears by pushing a silver toggle, flipping between the gears; drive, neutral and reverse. To use the toggle, all you have to do is rest your forearm on the centre console. It doesn't get more laid back than this!

You’ll find storage spaces everywhere. There is more storage in the centre console and deep storage bins in the car door. There are storage nets behind the driver and passenger seats as well as in the boot. Additional to having space in the centre console, you also have USB ports and wireless phone charging, with a clip that can hold your phone in place whilst driving down bumpy roads.

This EV also has B&O surround system, making the sound definition very clear. Due to the wind and road noise being limited, you can bop along to your music without any distractions.

The Audi e-tron has a whopping 12.3” digital display, that presents Audi’s configurable virtual cockpit. This system is in all of Audi’s newest cars, so you can change how the screen is viewed on the steering wheel, by just pressing the view button.

The centre console also has Audi’s latest MMI entertainment system, but what differs from the other Audi’s is that you can see the charge of the EV and also how much range you have left.

Below the digital display, there is 8.6” screen where you get all the apps you need such as Apple carplay ™, Android auto ™, radio, telephone and Satellite navigation.

You can control the air conditioning 'AC' by the screen, letting you see the exact temperature on the screen if you are looking for a specific temperature.

If looking at both screens gets too much, then you can turn one of the screens off. The map that is found on the 8.6” screen shows you a 3D bird eye view on where you are and the direction you are pointing.

The driver and passenger seats are heated and electrically adjustable, so when you hire an Audi e-tron, it doesn’t matter what height you are, you can still use the car comfortably! The seats are 4-way adjustable support so you can also control how far you sit from the steering wheel. The Audi e-tron sits higher than quite a few cars so you have a better overall view. (Although it depends what your driving style is and how you like your seat positioned).

The Audi e-tron also has parking sensors and a reversing camera like most EVs. But what’s amazing about this EV is that there is a 3D view of the car when it’s in reverse. You can literally see everything! How far away you are from the curb, what’s in front of you, what’s to the side of you, it really is amazing! The Audi e-tron will capture your every move. This will be one of the astonishing experiences you will have when you hire an Audi e-tron.

The Audi e-tron has also taken EVs to the next level by replacing conventional mirrors on the doors with cameras! Audi e-tronThe e-tron will be the first production car produced in high volumes to use virtual mirrors displayed on the door. The car can detect what you do as a driver and what you need. For instance, when you go on the motorway and go above 70mph, it zooms back so you can see further behind as you are going at a faster rate. You can also adjust the camera so it points below, being useful for parallel parking as you can see the distance between your tyre and the curb. You can see more than a conventional mirror but if you want to stick to a conventional mirror then the Audi e-tron also comes in that version, which is what we have here at EVision.

There is a lot of space in the Audi e-tron making it a perfect family car. You can easily fit anyone who is over 6ft in the back of the car, leaving plenty of room for everyone else. As well as having the luxury to pull down the back seats in this EV, you can add up to 6 luggage cases in the boot. If you still want to use some of the seats in the back, you can just pull down the middle seat and have two cup holders, a storage tray within the back of the seat.

In addition, another nice feature the Audi e-tron has, is a remote boot release, meaning you just press a simple button and the boot will open or indeed close. Therefore, gone are the days whereby you struggle to open or close the boot, whilst juggling your shopping bags in both hands!

The steering wheel on the Audi e-tron is adjustable making it compliant with your driving style. The steering wheel also has paddles which means you can activate Regenerative braking. Pressing the left paddle to gain more range, you will start to feel the car slow down from the previous speed. The right paddle gives you more power and you can use this if you are struggling to get up a hill or just want to go faster.

With an impressive 249 miles, it is an ideal car for long journeys. All cars hired from EVision Electric Car Hire can benefit from free charging at any of our partner companies; Including Diggerland Theme Parks and HE SERVICES depots. So, when you need to recharge the car, you have a free option if you are in any of these areas. The Audi e-tron can do 0-60 mph in an impressive 5.7 seconds which is truly outstanding! With automatic emergency braking and lane assistance, this really is a great car to hire.
